6 Reasons to Use a Daily Planner
I’m sure you know how to use a daily planner, but you might not know just how valuable they can really be. Using a planner goes far beyond helping you remember your appointments.
1. TIME MANAGEMENT
Do you get overwhelmed with everything you need to do? It can feel like there just isn’t time for everything that needs to be done in our work and personal lives.
So many of us could actually “find” more time if we scheduled our tasks and our time more effectively. Instead, we’re constantly busy multi-tasking which i think we can all agree is inefficient. Hopping from one thing to another, often not giving our full attention to what we’re doing, but instead worrying about what else needs to be done.
Using a planner to schedule appointments, events, and tasks means you always know what you need to do each day. As you fill in your calendar, block out the time needed for each task, so your days aren’t overscheduled. Be sure to schedule in family time and self care!
2. INCREASE PRODUCTIVITY
We all have personal and professional demands on our time. Using a planner can help you meet those demands.
You probably think of productivity as it relates to your job, but you also need to be productive at home. There are lots of household chores and tasks that are easier to stay on top of if you put them on your schedule, like weekly cleaning, meal planningm, groceries, home DIY projects ... and the list goes on!
Blocking out time on your schedule for your errands and household chores is a great way to improve productivity. Designating time to focus on one thing before moving on to the next is a sure way to boost your efficiency both at home and at work.
3. YOU’RE LESS LIKELY TO FORGET SOMETHING IMPORTANT
It’s stressful to try to remember everything you have to do, remember the appointments you’ve scheduled, and the work deadlines you have coming up.
Using a daily planner to write down your to-do lists, appointments, deadlines, and keep track of birthdays means you are less likely to forget something important. Just the act of writing something down makes you more likely to remember it!
4. EVERYTHING IN ONE PLACE
No more having to look for sticky notes or scroll through your Notes app to find out what time the dinner party is! With a planner, you’ll have all your information together in one spot. The ease of being able to track all your important details by just flipping pages will also be beneficial when wanting to reflect upon your progress.
5. THE HEALTH BENEFITS
There are lots of ways you can use a daily planner to help you stay healthy. Obviously, a calendar or planner will help you keep track of your scheduled check-ups and dentist appointments, AND to schedule time for exercise, self care appointments, ME time and of course some and time outdoors for fresh air and vitamin D.
6. FEEL PROUD OF PROGRESS
What else is more satisfying than getting to cross items off of your list? By doing so, you’ll feel so accomplished that you’ll be more motivated to continue completing the remaining tasks. Continuing to schedule out your commitments is the key to stay productive.
